Lower Magat Eco-Tourism Park

Description

Lower Magat Eco-Tourism Park is a protected area in the Philippines that covers 1,120 hectares of land along the lower part of the Magat River in Cagayan Valley. The park is located in the municipality of Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya, and is bounded by Isabela and Ifugao provinces. The park was established in 1969 by the provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya to preserve and develop the natural resources of the area.

The park is a popular destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers who want to enjoy the scenic and diverse landscape of the park. The park features a large reservoir that provides irrigation and hydroelectric power to the region, as well as a habitat for various fish species. The park was once a trading post for the Japanese, who were allied with the native Ibanag people in the 16th century. It was also the site of the 1582 Cagayan battles, which were fought between Spanish soldiers and Japanese ronin (masterless samurai).
