Imugan Falls

Description

Imugan Falls is a 35-foot single layer cascade located in Imugan River. It takes 20 minutes to hike from Imugan Proper following a cleared path to the waterfalls. The falls is situated in the town of Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya, which is in between the mountain ranges of Cordillera and Sierra Madre. The falls is one of the most popular natural attractions of the province.

The falls has a cold water that comes from a spring atop Mount Imugan. The water drops to a shallow basin before flowing downstream. The falls is surrounded by a forest that has diverse flora and fauna.

The falls is also rich in history and culture, as it was once a trading post for the Japanese, who were allied with the native Ibanag people in the 16th century. It was also the site of the 1582 Cagayan battles, which were fought between Spanish soldiers and Japanese ronin (masterless samurai).

The falls is a perfect place for relaxation, adventure, and photography. You can swim in the clear water, enjoy the scenic view, or have a picnic in the nearby cottages. You can also explore other attractions in Santa Fe, such as the Pinzal Falls and the Lower Magat Eco-Tourism Park.
