Gabriela Silang Monument

Gabriela Silang Monument is a monument that honors Gabriela Silang, a heroine of the Philippine Revolution and a native of Abra. She led a revolt against the Spanish colonial forces after her husband, Diego Silang, was assassinated. She was captured and executed by hanging in 1763. The monument depicts her on a horse, holding a bolo (machete) and a flag.

The monument was designed by Sculptor Jose Mendoza, who also designed the Rizal Monument in Luneta Park, Manila. The monument stands 12 meters high and is made of bronze and concrete.
