Baluarte Watch Tower

Baluarte Watch Tower is a historical and cultural landmark in Luna, La Union, Philippines. It is a 400-year-old watchtower that was built by the Spanish colonizers to protect the coastal town from pirates and invaders. It is made of coral stones and bricks, and it has a statue of Our Lady of Namacpacan on top. It is also dedicated to the Chinese sea goddess Mazu, who is also known as Ma-Cho or Tianhou.

Baluarte Watch Tower is a symbol of the resilience and faith of the people of Luna, who have endured many natural and man-made calamities over the centuries. The watchtower has been damaged by earthquakes, typhoons, and wars, but it has always been restored and preserved by the locals and the government. Today, it stands as a tourist attraction that offers a scenic view of the pebble beach and the West Philippine Sea.

Baluarte Watch Tower is open to the public every day, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. The entrance fee is 20 pesos per person. You can also visit some nearby attractions, such as the Luna Pebble Beach, the Namacpacan Church, and the Kamay na Bato Art Gallery.
