Description
Cape Bojeador Lighthouse is a cultural heritage structure in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, in the Philippines. It was built by the Spanish colonial government in the late 19th century as part of their plan to illuminate the Philippine archipelago. It is the highest-elevated still original and active Spanish era lighthouse in the country, and it marks the northwesternmost point in Luzon. The lighthouse has a 20-meter-tall octagonal stone tower, a bronze cupola, and a first-order Fresnel lens. It also has a pavilion that houses a museum and a courtyard with an old well. The lighthouse offers a scenic view of the sea and the mountains, and it is a popular tourist attraction in the region.
